Working in IT consultancy from 2001 as Developer, Consultant and Architect in different platforms and technologies. From 2006 I was focused in BI technologies and I have got my Master of Business Intelligence in the University of Barcelona in 2012, as well as Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solution Expert: SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: SQL Server 2012
I was MVP of Integration Services (ETL) in Avanade, where I worked with Reporting Services and Analysis Services (2005/08/12) for more than 3 years within Avanade and Accenture projects. My skills as Database Architect are strong with more than 14 years’ experience in T-SQL Server with different DB engine such as SQLServer (05-14), Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Hive… I have an excellent knowledge in Microsoft BI and a good understanding of the Data Warehouse cycle life following the Ralph Kimball methodology (Bus Architecture) and DataVault modelling by Dan Linstedt.
I specialised on creating BI/ETL frameworks in order to accelerate and automate the gathering as much data as possible, creating versioning of raw data and apply latest Data Modelling techniques to unify all the data giving a semantic understanding and providing automation even when creating data marts.
From August 2015 to August 2017, I was working in Rakuten, leading an ambitious project that aims to create Big Data as a Service Platform. Offering a unique centralize Enterprise Data Warehouse for all Rakuten business and divide big data into layers to easy access and governance. I am responsible for the EDW creation, history stage and many ETL automation processes that we are currently implementing, using Python, MySQL, Hadoop and Teradata. In Rakuten, I was using different technologies such as Hive, Spark, Airflow, Rundeck, Git, etc.
From 2017 to 2021 I was working in Swisscom Switzerland as Senior Data Engineer creating my own end to end solution to leverage a DV2.0 ecosystem on Hadoop/Hive.

Working as Database Architect using Teradata and Hadoop technologies. I proposed to move to a new Generation Data Warehouse, moving all our Data into Hadoop/Hive using Data Vault 2.0. My key points on this ambitious project are:- Design whole solution end to end alone (no expertise on Big Data Warehouses in-house)
- Brought my own (private) code which will accelerate and automatize the whole DW ETL and creation process.
- Swisscom evaluated a few other vendors such as “Data Vault Builder” and “VaultSpeed” and still we are working with my “Scalable Data Warehouse”
- Being Product Owner and taking care of the evolution of the platform, doing tasks like: o Setup a DevOps team capable of maintaining the code and working on Operations o Keep improving performance and capabilities on the tool o Modelling from scratch the whole new DW o Finding new stakeholders and use cases to grow the platform I did complete in the meantime various architect courses for MicroStrategy products, Scrum Master training from the Scrum Alliance, and I Certified on Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner (CDVP2)

Database Architect in Big Data Department Designing Enterprise Data Warehouse with Data Vault 2.0 and ETL automation Working as Database Architect in the Big Data Department. Using technologies such as Hive, Hadoop, MySQL, Teradata, etc. Leading on the MDM implementation in order to have a highly governed Data Lake as well as ETL automation, EDW data modelling and providing vision for the future Rakuten Big Data as a Service Platform.
Working as an architect we are aiming to create what we called “Rakuten Data as a Service Platform” which has capability to get hundreds of databases from various sources into Hadoop/Hive to later consumption with Hive. Then I am also leading creating a unique Data Warehouse to unify with Data Vault 2.0 all the Rakuten’s ecosystem data (+800 businesses) so we can help or partially automate data mart creation (Star/Snowflake Schema). The project is ambitious, it did start with my vision and today’s budget and headcounts are increasing rapidly as the effectively (even in its beta phase) is notorious and famous in Rakuten internally.
